Equality between men and women

It was made known in writing in the Basic Law that men and women are equal, and that they have the same rights. Actually, however, it does not seem to be completely true. Besides the physical differences, women are different from men in a number of aspects.

Main role sharing foresees that men are the stronger sex that has the upper hand. Women, on the other hand, are considered the weaker sex, always giving more importance to a harmonious family life than to work. That is the reason why, sometimes, women may show a disposition to wishful thinking and being featherbrained. The most important thing for them is sharing their feelings, and that is why they use to talk a blue streak. However, they are always ready for whatever may come, listening other people’s problems and comfort them.

Men, on the contrary, don’t use to mince their words when someone asks them for advice. They just say what they think. Because of that, sometimes they seem crueler, although they also appear to be more sincere.

Nowadays, it seems to be a change in the division of roles. It appears that women assume more and more masculine roles. Women feel damaged in work environment because, in many professions and jobs, they use to earn less than men. In addition to this, they enjoy less chance to move up at work if they want to balance their families and their working lives.

Therefore, little by Little, women are getting used to make their way and fight for what they want in a stronger way than before. Besides, just as women are beginning to conquer the work market, there are more and more men who discover their feminine side, too, becoming more used to take care of children at home.

In summary, it can be said that equality between men and women only exists theoretically. They are too different, physically and psychologically, to be really equal.
